Your Windows desktop runs on a server in our datacenter instead of on the computer in front of you. You sign in and see the same desktop, the same applications, and the same files you always do. The difference is where the work is happening, and therefore where the data lives.

From the person using it, the day feels normal. From your side, everything that used to be scattered across laptops is now in one place you control.

Because a session host environment costs about the same to build and run whether four people use it or nine. Below five users that cost is spread too thin, and the honest answer is that you are buying a server to solve a laptop problem.

If you have fewer than five people, a well-managed laptop with device security and backup does the same job for less. Ask us and we will tell you that rather than sell you this.

Provisioning the environment, sizing it for your team, installing and testing your applications in a shared session, connecting it to your existing identity, setting up profiles so people's settings follow them, and putting the firewall and backup in place around it.

It is quoted as a one-time project rather than listed at a price, because what your team runs genuinely changes the work. Some applications behave perfectly in a shared session and some need handling, and we would rather find that out before quoting than after. Changes after the build are billed at $150 per hour.

No, and that is deliberate. Microsoft 365 licensing is billed separately at cost, so you stay in control of which licenses your team holds and you are not exposed to Microsoft's pricing changes through us. If you would like us to handle the licensing as well, we can, as a separate line rather than folded into this price.

At this price we run and support the environment: the host, the session host, backup, the firewall, and the identity connection. If the environment has a problem, that is ours.

Per-person help desk, the call about a printer or an application that will not open, comes from Total Care. Most clients running virtual desktops take both, and Total Care Premium includes a session host environment already. Buying the desktops on their own is perfectly reasonable if you have someone internal who fields those calls.

Work stops until it is back, which is the real trade-off of this product and we would rather say it plainly. The mitigation is that the desktop is not tied to a place: people can carry on from home, from a phone hotspot, or from anywhere with a connection, because the desktop is not on the office machine.

If connectivity is already the thing that goes wrong at your office, that is worth fixing first, and it is a conversation we are happy to have before you buy anything.

Yes, and most clients do. The machine only has to draw the screen and carry the keyboard and mouse, so hardware that would otherwise be ready for replacement usually has years left in it once the work moves off it. That deferred replacement cost is a real part of what makes the numbers work.

Yes. Server backup and disaster recovery for the environment is included in the price rather than sold alongside it, which is part of why this costs what it does. Routine restores are included. Recovery following a security incident is billed at the hourly rate, because that is incident response rather than backup support.
